Privacy Policy

The short version

Every calculator on Finance Tools runs entirely inside your browser. The numbers you type — salaries, savings balances, mortgage amounts, retirement targets — are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. There is no account system, no login, and no database of user submissions.

What we do collect is anonymous usage measurement (which pages are visited, from which country, on what kind of device) and advertising data handled by Google. Those are described below.

Information we do not collect

Calculator inputs are processed by JavaScript on your own device and discarded as soon as you close or reload the page.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which calculators and guides people find useful. It records anonymised information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, referring website, browser, and device type. It does not record calculator inputs.

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Advertising

Finance Tools is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. Ads are clearly labelled and kept separate from calculator results and editorial content.

Third-party vendors other than Google may also place cookies when serving ads through Google’s network. A full list of Google’s advertising partners is available in Google’s advertising privacy notice.

Cookies and consent

Cookies used on this site fall into two groups: analytics cookies set by Google Analytics, and advertising cookies set by Google AdSense and its partners. No cookie is used to identify you personally.

If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, a consent message is shown before personalised advertising cookies are set, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time through that message. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies entirely; the calculators will continue to work normally if you do.

Your rights

Because we hold no account data and no personal records, there is generally nothing for us to export or delete on request. For data collected by Google on our behalf, Google acts as a data processor and its own Privacy Policy and retention controls apply.

Residents of the EEA and UK have rights of access, rectification, erasure, and objection under the GDPR. Residents of California have the right to know what personal information is collected and to opt out of its sale — Finance Tools does not sell personal information.

Children

Finance Tools is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Some pages link to third-party sites such as lenders, brokers, or reference sources. Those sites have their own privacy practices, and this policy does not cover them.

Changes to this policy

Any material change will be reflected here along with a new “last updated” date. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.
